Walking with Jesus in Tempe still

God still has me in Tempe, AZ.

It’s November, and I thought I’d be back in California by now, but I feel a great peace about staying in Tempe until further notice from King Jesus.

I’m in a season of my life where I’m working with a missions agency part-time and building an internet business from home the rest of the time. I’ve been learning how to become a soccessful internet marketer, online advertiser, social media guru, etc.

I’m also learning a lot about productivity, time management, and intimacy with Jesus. It’s definitely takes discipline to live this out well. I was so bombarded by by being busy and doing in Orange County. It’s been a refreshing year of getting away from this busyness and learning to walk with Jesus simply.

Anyway, wanted to give a quick update in between the craziness of blogging and working on the internet.

Please keep California in your prayers, as I continue to read reports of the fires spreading from LA to Orange County. May God use these circumstances to lead many followers of Jesus there to demonstrate kindness and love to those in need and may all of us learn to throw down the idols of materialism, pride, and lust to follow the one true, living God - Jesus of Nazareth.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you’ll stay to check out my blognews updates, and videos I’ve made.

This is My Desire

My desire is to share how Jesus is moving in my life and stirring me to live radically for His Kingdom. I also hope God will spur you on to lift up the Name of Jesus in your city and around the world.

Ever since I got back from London in August, I am more resolved than ever to declare the worth of Jesus as both Lord and Christ. I also feel a strong call on my life to encourage the local Church to live as ambassadors for the Kingdom of God that display lives that represent the worth of Jesus and declare the truth of King Jesus and Him Crucified with gentleness and love.

If you consider the worth of Jesus, he will set you free from the slavery of sin and death. You will be free indeed. Jesus is the only one that can bring us freedom. No other religion or spiritual belief. Jesus is the King of Kings.

When I read Luke 4:43, I see the passion of Jesus:

“I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”

Jesus came with a great purpose, to bring His Kingdom to earth as it is in Heaven. And, he demonstrated his power over sin and death, by being raised from the dead and presenting himself to many witnesses over many days.  When Jesus ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father, he promised that whoever believes in Him will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to be his witnesses.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

I am excited that God desires to use us to be his witnesses in both how we live and what we say to the world around us.

We live in a great hour that God wants to use us in the Name of Jesus to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to heal the sick, and to cast out demons.

As we seek to love each other deeply, we will show the world that we are Jesus’ disciples and they will give Glory to God. I believe that we can do this as we live as the early church did,

“they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.”

I’m excited about what God has in store for me and you, as we abide in Jesus’ word to show that we truly are his disciples (John 8:31) and surrender our lives to the mission of Jesus as ministers of reconciliation to a lost and broken world.

“If you have faith in the Son of God, you can know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)

So many people do not know that they can have eternal life and many choose to not even consider these claims. I pray that you will consider the claims that Jesus made and that the Scriptures declare that Jesus is Lord.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10)

If you are a believer or nonbeliever, thank you for reading this and considering the truths of Jesus as both Lord and Messiah.

Send me an email if you would like to discuss this further or learn together through the Holy Bible what it means to follow Jesus and not a religion. More Jesus, Less of me.

For the Fame of Jesus,
Ken

Radical follower spurring on other radicals…

When we follow Jesus, we are called to surrender to him and abandon self. Jesus said, if anyone would come after him, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow him.

The other day, I was watching a sermon by Francis Chan from his series on the end of the world. He talked about Paul’s letter to Timothy warning him that in later times men will be lovers of self, lovers of pleasure, lovers of money, and will have a facade of godliness but denying its power.

I had to examine my heart during this message and see how much I have been about SELF lately. Everything I have been worrying about and focusing on has been SELF, and I have had to repent and put my trust back in my King Jesus.

As we journey together to know Jesus, may his Holy Spirit lead us to test our hearts and live RADICALLY and PASSIONATELY for KING JESUS. Let’s surround ourselves with these people, because without them, it will be a lonely and harder journey.

To spur you on, I’m including 2 quotes I found fascinating and exhilarating:

The historian D’Aubigne writes: “A great work of God is never
accomplished by the natural strength of man. It is from the dry
bones, the darkness and the dust of death, that God is pleased to
select the  instruments by means of which He designs to scatter
over the earth His light, regeneration and life.” [- D’Aubigne’s
“History of the Reformation”].

Another writer has observed: “In the various crises that have
occurred in the history of the church, men have come to the front
who have manifested a holy recklessness that astonished their
fellows. When Luther nailed his theses to the door of the cathedral
at Wittenberg, cautious men were astonished at his audacity.
When John Wesley ignored all church restrictions and religious
propriety and preached in the fields and by-ways, men declared
his reputation was ruined. So it has been in all ages. When the
religious condition of the times called for men who were willing to
sacrifice all for Christ, the demand created the supply, and there
have always been found a few who have been willing to be
regarded reckless for the Lord. An utter recklessness concerning
men’s opinions and other consequences is the only attitude that
can meet the exigencies of the present times.” [Quoted by Frank
Bartleman in “Azusa Street”, pg 46. (Also published as “Another
Wave Rolls in”). - Another brilliant book!]

King Jesus or bust!

I want people to know about my King, Jesus.

His Kingdom is not of this world. His Love was demonstrated through suffering not conquering.

I want you to see the beauty of King Jesus.

He is the Lamb that was slain for sins of the world. He desires all men and women to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Do you believe in King Jesus? Do you follow King Jesus?

Paul talked about another King than Caesar when he visited the city of Thessalonica in Acts 17.

His Name is Jesus.

He is to be worshipped, treasured, adored, followed.

If you claim to be a Christian, but don’t have this view of Jesus and have not made Jesus your King, then I’m sorry to say that you are missing the worth of King Jesus and may not be saved at all.

If you could care less about religion and are apathetic about eternal things, I ask you to consider that you are giving worth to something in your life, and missing out on the beauty of following King Jesus.

It’s all about King Jesus. He made the world and everything in it. He is the exact representation of the living God. He is going to judge the world in righteousness someday.

King Jesus. Period.

Summer is over…now what?

It’s been about a month since I arrived back to the US from London. London was amazing, not only the city but the opportunities I had to meet people from all over the world. I could definitely see myself moving there some day to be a shining light for Jesus in that city.

Summer is over. Schools are back in session. And, people still need to hear about the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

I’m currently in Tempe, AZ building relationships with students at ASU right now. While I’m here, I’m trying to make the most of the opportunities before me to engage students on the meaning of life, their views on eternal life, and ultimately how they see Jesus.

Would you pray with me that God directs my next steps and vision for ministry?

May the Name of Jesus be lifted high in all we do and say.
For Jesus,
Ken
