Apathy all around, but hope still remains

Sunday Night I was blessed with some splendid time in community with my 2 brothers, Joshua and Dallas. They love Jesus and want his all in their life. So that’s what we prayed for. Perfect Love. Perfect love that casts out fear. God’s Perfect love.

We invited the Holy Spirit to come and comfort us, to lead us into the truth of this Perfect Love, to pour out more onto us.

We found ourselves full of Joy, laughing, crying at times, thankful for the answer to our prayers.

The next day, Monday Morning, I had a great time with Jesus, which led me to be filled with boldness as I walked onto ASU’s campus.

As I was riding my bike, I started shouting “Jesus is Lord”, “Jesus is Lord” again and again. A few Christians replied back in agreement but most of the responses were silence. Apathy all around me as students walked to and from classes. Why God? Why can’t these students be like my muslim friends in London who would scream back at me that Jesus was not Lord with great passion. No, in America, there is much apathy and this spirit is quenching this generation of any life.

Yes, they have the appearance of life when they are drunk coming and going into bars, heading to house parties. But, it’s purely a mask and facade that evil has put on this culture. They need alcohol and sex to foster this excitement. Apart from this, there is great apathy. I see it everyday in the people I talk to.

“I don’t think about eternity”…”What are you talking about”…”No”…”Never”

These are common responses when I bring up eternal questions!

If you are a follower of Jesus reading this, I pray this breaks your heart and causes you to get out of your chair with me and reach this lost generation. They are in need of your spiritual gifts…your encouragement, love, gentleness, passion, and much more.

If this doesn’t break your heart, I’m concerned for you. Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost, and he had such a heart of compassion for the broken and hurting in his day. We need to ask Jesus for this same heartbeat.

I know that I have a lot to learn and could probably learn more about how to reach this culture more effectively. I guarantee I’m doing some things wrong and other things well. But, I want to be in the fight and learn as I go. I’m asking you to join in the fight. Not out of guilt. Not out of shame. But, out of a pure desire to love Jesus and love people.

I have seen some good fruit in the midst of the mucho apathy. One girl prayed with me to make Jesus Lord of her life that day. And another was very close but not ready to quite yet surrender. Many more now have the Gospel and Jesus on their minds, and I leave Jesus to work their journeys out for His Good.

Let’s Fight on. More Jesus, Less of self.

King Jesus or bust!

I want people to know about my King, Jesus.

His Kingdom is not of this world. His Love was demonstrated through suffering not conquering.

I want you to see the beauty of King Jesus.

He is the Lamb that was slain for sins of the world. He desires all men and women to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Do you believe in King Jesus? Do you follow King Jesus?

Paul talked about another King than Caesar when he visited the city of Thessalonica in Acts 17.

His Name is Jesus.

He is to be worshipped, treasured, adored, followed.

If you claim to be a Christian, but don’t have this view of Jesus and have not made Jesus your King, then I’m sorry to say that you are missing the worth of King Jesus and may not be saved at all.

If you could care less about religion and are apathetic about eternal things, I ask you to consider that you are giving worth to something in your life, and missing out on the beauty of following King Jesus.

It’s all about King Jesus. He made the world and everything in it. He is the exact representation of the living God. He is going to judge the world in righteousness someday.

King Jesus. Period.

Summer is over…now what?

It’s been about a month since I arrived back to the US from London. London was amazing, not only the city but the opportunities I had to meet people from all over the world. I could definitely see myself moving there some day to be a shining light for Jesus in that city.

Summer is over. Schools are back in session. And, people still need to hear about the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

I’m currently in Tempe, AZ building relationships with students at ASU right now. While I’m here, I’m trying to make the most of the opportunities before me to engage students on the meaning of life, their views on eternal life, and ultimately how they see Jesus.

Would you pray with me that God directs my next steps and vision for ministry?

May the Name of Jesus be lifted high in all we do and say.
For Jesus,
Ken
